Rev. Kent Hogan, Pastor
Pastor Kent is originally from rural Randolph County, N.C. He was converted to Christ at 21 years old,
alongside his wife, at a morning church service. He has served churches in Virginia, southwest Florida,
Randolph, Yadkin and Davidson counties. In addition to church ministries, Pastor Kent was a full-time
professor of biblical studies and history at Piedmont International University in Winston-Salem, and has
done mission work abroad to train and equip national church planters and missionaries.
Pastor Hogan came to the interim pastorate at Edgewood in September of 2010. Through a particularly
clear work of God, the church voted to call him as the full time senior pastor in July of 2011. He is a fan
of most sports, particularly basketball and football. He also enjoys playing basketball and racquetball.
His interests also include travel, history, and reading -- and whatever his kids are doing. Kent and his
wife, Janet, are the parents of three boys: Gage, Kody, and Jacob; and one girl: Shana. They also have four beautiful grandchildren: Kinleigh, Avery, Liam, and Asher.
